Seoul

After the DMZ tour, Prairie, Whitney, and I went to the Cultural Center in Seoul where we were able to make a mirror and a box with traditional Korean paper.  I'm not a big fan of arts and crafts, but it was actually a lot of fun.  Later that evening, we met up with everyone else and checked out a lantern festival.  It was amazing the creativity on display!
On Saturday, while everyone else went shopping, Prairie and I checked out Olympic Park.  Seoul was host to the Summer Olympics in 1988.  Later that afternoon, everyone met up at Itaewon.  Itaewon is close to one of the US Military bases in Korea, and is a popular area for foreigners.  I was told that visiting Itaewon was like leaving Korea, but I thought is was more like being transported to Little Korea in any large US city.
