My Apartment

The apartments that ECC provides for their foreign teachers are extremely nice.  Especially when I see the apartments of my friends who work for other schools.  I share a three bedroom apartment with Aaron, a 24-year from Kentucky.  We have a spare bedroom, full kitchen, balconies on either side, and a full bathroom.  The fact that we have an oven and a full tub is actually a big deal in Korea.  Since the country is so populated, most apartments only have a stove top and the bathrooms have a drain in the floor with a hand held showerhead coming from the sink.  The beds took a little while to get adjusted to however.  Most Koreans sleep on the floor with blankets, so the idea of having a mattress doesn't make sense to them.  The apartments are heated from the floor, so sleeping on the ground is probably quite nice in the cold winters!
